Thank you

A big thank you to all of the parents who this week have contributed to the coffee morning in aid of MacMillan Cancer Care and those who attended the various parents meetings, here and at Archbishop Runcie and the Reception stay and play mornings. We are very lucky to have parents who are so involved in the life of school.

Family Fun Day

We are pleased to announce that as part of fundraising activities for cancer care there will be a Family Fun Day at Benton Dene Primary School in Longbenton from 2pm this Sunday. Come along and support this very worthy cause.

Music in School

Children at Regent Farm are very lucky to receive such a lot of music tuition free of charge. This half term we offer singing lessons with Picollo music, steel band sessions and ‘Rock in a box’ through the music service and one to one tuition in chalumeau and ukulele. Our choir is the biggest in Gosforth and this year our ‘Friends of the school’ committee are fundraising for more instruments to add to our school collection. No wonder we are such a talented little lot!

Cauliflower Christmas Cards

Once again we are happy to provide the services of the Cauliflower Cards company in printing the childrens’ designs. The results are stunning and always put a smile on peoples’ faces. Order forms and cash/cheques in labelled envelopes must be returned to school no later than Tuesday 14th October.

Scholastic Book Fair

Next week (Monday 29th- Friday 3rd) school will hold the scholastic book fair. The fair will be open every morning before school and evening after school to buy books. Please come along and have a look at the selection. The company will match 60% of the total and donate to school in books making it a very worthy cause.

Sustrans Breakfast and Doctor Bike

You should have received a letter to explain our Bike it Breakfast party on Thursday this week (2nd October). We always have a wonderful time and it is lovely to see the children all travelling to school on their bikes and scooters.

A new chair and secretary for the PTFA

We are delighted to announce that we have a new chair for our PTFA. Lucy Campbell (mummy to Holly and Luke) will take over from Mrs Aspin who has done a sterling job for the past 4 years. A huge thank you to Mrs Aspin and her family for all of the spare time that she has given up to run fairs and events. We are sure Lucy will do a fabulous job and carry on the good work. Mrs Freeman has stepped down as secretary of the committee and has handed over the position to Karen Armstrong (mummy of Charlie and Abbie). Mrs Bowman will continue in her role as committee treasurer.

Our yearly harvest festival will be held at 9.10 am on Friday 10th of October. Donations go to the Peoples’ Kitchen. Any donations are gratefully received.
