Parents’ Meetings

Many thanks to all parents who attended the meetings this week. It is lovely to see so many of you working in partnership with our teachers to make your child’s experience of school such a positive one. Please note that parents’ evenings will be held the week commencing Monday 13th October for you to chat one to one with your child’s class teacher.

Macmillan Coffee Morning

Don’t forget to come along to the coffee morning on Friday at 9am in the small hall. Everyone is welcome so bring friends and family and enjoy a cuppa for a good cause.

European Day of Languages

On Friday 26th September our school will take party in the European Day of languages. Lunch will be lasagne from Italy, Paella from Spain or Baguette with French cheeses from France and the children will have a chance to sample languages spoken in Europe. We ask that on this day your child dresses up in clothing appropriate to their allocated language or the colours of the associated flag.

School of the Year

We are thrilled to announce that Regent Farm has been awarded ‘School of the Year’ at Northumberland Tennis Association. During the Summer holidays some staff, governors, parents and children attended the awards ceremony and picked up the trophy and certificate on our behalf. A big thank you to Kim Sanderson, our coach, who has helped us to this achievement.

Guided Reading Record Books

Please help us to help your children by commenting in their guided reading record books. This helps staff to focus on any issues individually and direct the learning.

Education City

Education City is a fabulous web based resource that can be used at school and at home. We encourage you to access the games sections at home with your child. In the next few days your child will receive their individual login and password to access the resource. Please keep an eye out for them coming your way.

Numicon Meetings

Parent meetings will be held on the following dates for parents wishing to find out more about this wonderful mathematics resource. The meetings will be held at Archbishop Runcie First School at 6pm. We encourage anyone to attend, especially if your child finds mathematics a struggle.

Nursery and Reception – Tuesday 23rd September.

Year 1 and Year 2 – Tuesday 30th September.

Year 3 and Year 4 – Tuesday 7th October.

Year 4 Bake Sale

Our first PTFA bake sale of the year will be held on Friday 26th September at 3.15pm. Year 4 are our first bakers but of course anyone can add to the sale. Please bring baked/ bought goodies to the office on Friday morning ready to sell.

Breakfast Club

Please remember that the only children who may come to breakfast club free of charge are those in receipt of free school meals. The parents of all other children should pay £2.10 per session. This cost has remained the same for the past 5 years. All parents whose children use breakfast club must fill in a contract and indicate which sessions they wish their child to attend. At the moment some children are simply turning up on the day and the staff are really struggling to accommodate and feed these unexpected guests. We really don’t want to be in the situation where we turn children away. If you have any questions about this please see Mrs. Ashcroft.
