What a great half term
Our ‘Me, myself and I…’ topic has been a fantastic success this half term with the children enjoying learning about themselves, their bodies, their city, their friends, their community and their school. We hope that the many parents’ meetings and evenings we have held this half term helped you to feel confident in what your child has been learning. Our next topic is called ‘Northern Lights’ and will run until Christmas. Look out for the curriculum newsletter which will detail the learning for your particular class.
Operation Christmas Child
You should have received information regarding our collection for Operation Christmas Child. The shoeboxes for the shoebox appeal are due at school on Monday 3rd November. This will allow time for them to be delivered. If you have lost your leaflet, details on how to pack a box can be found by searching operation Christmas child/how to pack a shoebox.
National Roast Dinner Day
On Wednesday 5th November school will be joining in with National Roast Dinner day by providing a roast dinner for those children on school dinners. Please note that this will mean the choices on the menus are not available on this day only.
Our lovely school nurse Nicola will be available for drop in appointments on Friday 14th November for those of you who might be struggling with a bedtime routine for your child. She will be here to offer confidential advice and support. Your child does not have to be in our reception classes for you to attend. It will be open to parents of all children in Regent Farm. Nicola will be in the family room from 2pm until 3pm.
Children in Need
This years’ theme is ‘Superheroes’. Children should come to school on Friday 14th November dressed as a hero. This does not need to be a superhero, it could be their sporting hero or a historical figure. Get those thinking caps on over half term.
Thank you to all of those who signed up for family learning. This will begin next half term. You should receive a phone call to confirm your attendance. We are very excited to begin the courses and for parents to find out more about what goes on in school.
