Gizmos and Gadgets
Robots, Rockets and Recipes
Gizmos and Gadgets is a topic based on building skills of problem-solving.
The children are encouraged to use scientific and mathematical ways of thinking in order to investigate and explore.
We begin the topic by becoming engineers. The children are encouraged to be curious learners by questioning and editing ideas and plans. They use determination to work through more challenging and open-ended activities.
We explore robots, rockets and vehicles before moving on to kitchen gadgets and how they can help us become more efficient in our own homes – we practice with lots of recipes and tasty treats.
