My World and Me
Under the Sea
In the second half of the Spring term, we continue to explore the natural world by looking under the sea.
We visit the beach and the rock pool school and write fiction and non-fictional texts based on our book if the week.
As the topic moves on, we begin to focus on conservation. The children develop a sense of themselves as global citizens who can contribute to the world around them.
We delve into the fantasy world of mermaids and focus on cultural and gender stereotypes by asking questions like “Can boys be mermaids?"
