60th Birthday Mural

Our wonderful mural is just about finished and has made such a difference to the yard. The children love it and I am so grateful to Lynda Nelson, the artist, for her hard work. She is also going to be producing a smaller scale painting at the front of school, so watch this space!

School Drop Off

Please can I remind all parents to stay with their children on the yard until 8:45am when the doors are open to school. I am aware some children have been left unaccompanied or walk through the gates on their own. I appreciate everyone is very busy in the mornings however the safety of the children in my care must always come first.

Can I take this opportunity to remind all parents about the importance of good attendance. We have a target of 96% attendance this year and many children are falling below this level. We will be having a reward for children who have at least 96 percent attendance in December. I will be writing to parents where their child’s attendance is worryingly low after half term. If we can do anything to help support you with getting your child to school please don’t hesitate to contact me, Jan Gurkin (our attendance officer) or Dan Tolan (Parent Support Advisor).

Recently a few parents have contacted me with concerns that they are not receiving letters. We will send weekly awards letters, a monthly newsletter and additional information re trips etc in school. If you believe you aren’t receiving this information please get in touch with the office who will be happy to help you. I appreciate it can feel like a lot of letters are emailed to you however this is the most efficient, environmentally friendly way to communicate with you all and I would please encourage you to make sure you read each letter which comes out.

Parents’ Evening

The parents’ evenings this week were a great success. We received lots of positive feedback about the new system and I hope it enabled you to have a purposeful, open conversation with the teacher. Many thanks for all of the parents who also took the time to write their comments on our ‘feedback wall’. I will be writing all these up to share with parents shortly. There were some wonderful suggestions for future developments which I will talk to staff and governors about. I would also like to thank all the staff, and the school kitchen, for all their efforts this week.

Sensory Garden

Thank you so much to everyone who helped start clearing our old sensory garden. The plans for the new sensory garden are developing nicely and I have attached the design so you can see what we are hoping to create over the next few months. This is such an exciting project and will offer a wonderful facility for our whole school community. If you think you can help with groundwork, path laying or any other features please get in touch!

Weather and Clothing

Please ensure your child has appropriate clothing for our changing weather – they must have a coat as we encourage our children to get as much fresh air as possible even in a little rain shower! Please also ensure that all property is clearly labelled with your child’s name.

Many thanks to the PTFA for their efforts this half term. The continued support is hugely appreciated and makes a massive difference to the experiences at Regent Farm. They were here for hours this morning decorating the hall for lunch and our discos and the children thoroughly enjoyed their spooky dancing!
