This is the first edition of Elmer’s Patchwork Press, over the next few months you will find a few more!
Many of you will remember, and have been involved in, the success of the Snow Dog trail in 2016. The impact of the Snow Dogs across the North East was huge: children visited places they’d never been before; families spent more time together and importantly children got away from looking at screens and increased their time outside!
In August 2019 St Oswald’s Hospice will be launching a new trail across the region called ‘Elmer’s Great North Parade’. Regent Farm First School are very excited to announce we will be part of this fabulous parade by designing an elephant to be displayed somewhere on the trail.
Our white, blank Elmer will be delivered to school in the next few weeks ready to be painted: this is where we need your help. It would be fabulous to have as many ideas as possible that we can try to incorporate into our final design.
On our website, under General section, there is a tab to follow where you can find a blank template of the elephant (front, back and both sides). If any children (or adults!) would like to design a colourful, eye catching elephant we would really appreciate it. We are very open to ideas - the only thing we’ve thought about is possibly including our school’s values, the star logo or school colours. We would love this elephant to become our school mascot so please let your imagination run wild! We will try to take as many ideas as possible when designing our final elephant.
Over the summer term we will be holding some Elmer events. We would also love to recreate a huge, colourful Elmer out of all 330 school pupils - if you have a drone which could take an aerial photograph please let school know!!
